Victoria Mendoza Nocon

Victoria Mendoza Nocon, age 97, passed peacefully on January 17, 2018. She was born December 23, 1920 in the Philippines. Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Fairhaven Memorial Services, 27856 Center Drive, Mission Viejo, CA. A funeral service will occur the next day on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM with additional viewing from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM also at 27856 Center Drive. A committal service and interment will occur Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12:00 PM at El Toro Memorial Park, 25751 Trabuco Road, in Lake Forest.

Victoria showed her love for family, extended family and friends with her many parties filled with Filipino delicacies prepared with great care. On a daily basis, from dawn to dusk and into the evening she enjoyed providing those that she loved significant cheer at gatherings with her cuisine. The kitchen was a happy place filled with lovely smells and family and friends who also shared their own culinary masterpieces, preparing them side by side with her. Victoria loved her home, particularly her garden, with a large avocado tree, with fruit that she shared with many people, and her favorite flowers: Gardenias and Jasminum Sambac (Sampaguitas) which she tended to with absolute care. She often made necklaces of Sampaguitas, the national flower of the Philippines.

Victoria is survived by four children, Evelyn, Herminia, Danilo and Roberto. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Jean, Janice and Joshua and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Emilia and was preceded in death by her husband and son, Eugenio and Teodoro.
