Wendy Jane Pollak

Wendy Jane Pollak was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 17, 1949 to Emil and Jeanette Pollak. Wendy grew up in Winnetka, Illinois with her sister, Susie. She graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL in 1967. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree at National College of Education and went on to earn her Master Degree in Human Resources from De Paul University in Chicago. Wendy resided in Winnetka until 2002 then moved to Highland Park.

She was quiet, yet really enjoyed being around people. She had a very sweet and caring nature that was loved by all. Wendy never married. She cherished her extended family and some dear close friends.

Wendy’s career was in Insurance Underwriting, working with companies such as General Electric and Swiss Re. She retired in 2008 after a 40 year career.

She moved from Highland Park to Southern California in 2012 to be closer to her sister Susie, brother-in-law, Rob Roof, niece, Ashley Roof Beimfohr and nephew, Scott Roof.

Wendy loved movies and read incessantly. She loved going to the theater and opera as well as watching some favorite TV shows. Wendy enjoyed traveling to Europe, California, Hawaii and Florida.

After months of battling health issues sustained from her Covid 19 hospitalization in December 2020 and January 2021, Wendy passed in Lake Forest, California. She will be laid to rest beside her parents in Skokie, Illinois.
