On Friday, September 12, 2025, God called Harry from labor to reward.
Harry was a hardworking man who would do anything and everything for people. He loved all sports, with a special passion for baseball, which he not only played but also coached, encouraging and inspiring others along the way.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning his civilian career. Harry worked at NASA and later spent several years employed with Kroger, before ending his career at the Va Hospital, where he retired after many years of faithful service.
He was preceded in rest by his parents, James and Ola Wilkins; and his beloved wife of 48 years, Joyce Nell Wilkins. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, and family; a union that stands as a true example of commitment and devotion. He was also preceded in rest by his sisters, Evelyn Johnson, Juanette Hill, Lillian Shelley, Alicia Cheney and his brother, James Wilkins Jr.
Harry leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children; Bridget Wilkins, Ricky Wilkins (Carla), Quintarre Wilkins (Denastya), and Marcus Wilkins; his goddaughter, Lorna Bradford; and he is also survived by his sisters, Peggy Henderson and Harriet Lynn James, who will forever cherish his memory. Also cherishing his memory are his grandchildren; Tiffany Rochelle, Jasmine Nicole, Rikki Wilkins, Quinesha Hatton (Carlton), Jamarkus Wilkins, Breanna Wilkins, Lauryn Wilkins, Aaron Wilkins, Paisley Wilkins, Josiah Wilkins, Alexis Wilkins, Dominique Hall, Jaelon Baker, and Antwan Williams; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Harry's life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
"Though his work on earth is done, his spirit lives on in those he touched."
