Happy Birthday, big brother! Today, you would have been 45. I wish I could call you and tell you but I can’t but I know you are cerebrating with mom and she always knew how to make our birthdays special. Love you and miss you so much!

This photo is from my sons 5th birthday party - 1980 , I’m not even sure where we had it . It might have been Cathy and Alan’s place ?
The picture is also very poor quality because of the year .. I had more pictures , they are just all in boxes and boxes that I’ve not done anything with yet , wish I had them now …

I have known the Breland family for a long time , although I haven’t seen any of them in a very long time , I’ve never stopped thinking of them .
Cathy and I were best friends from 14 yrs and up because in the 8th grade , we were the two tallest girls ! And we were loud and boisterous!
The picture I saw of Alan in the diaper , barefoot is one way I remember him the most ! Cathy & Alan lived across the street ( Westwood ) from me in the late 70’s when our boys were young and they played together ..
I’ve missed Cathy so much but now she has her angel with her , although it’s a sad , sad loss for the family ..
God Bless you Alan Sr., Emily , and Andrew .. and all of the other relatives who have lost this wonderful , happy , bright young man .. I will keep you all in my prayers thru this especially difficult time ..
Robin ..

Alan not popping in and out around the Holidays is just not gonna feel the same.
Even if months would go by and we didn't see him much,he was always around then ready to help . Last yr he volunteered to make Rosettes,I don't make them often because they're a pain. You put batter on an iron and fry them and you only can do about 4 at a time. Poor Alan, as fast as he was making them they were disappearing so I had to stop folks including myself from eating them. But here's Alan his usual self saying " it's all good" I'm like no ,you,ll be there all night. Alan truly had a heart of gold.

Alan always loved to be over Nov&Dec because we cooked and baked so much and he loved Xmas cookies, especially pumpkin . Last Nov he offered to help me do the cookies and we made so many over a couple wkends. Thanksgiving I was just finishing up the turkey gravy and felt really ill so Alan said I got this. Idk what he did but he thickened it so much it was like paste. Lol He felt so bad, next day him & Keith got another turkey. I was still sick but they cooked another dinner. Alan and I were just talking about all the Xmas cookies we'd make this yr about 2 wks ago . We were going to start buying stuff to be ready.
