

Albert was born in Passaic, New Jersey in 1953, the son of Albert Eugene and Rena Elgar and moved with his family at a young age, to Hialeah, Florida. After his High School Graduation from Hialeah High School, Albert went on to attend NorthWestern University in Chicago, Illinois where he received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon his college graduation, Albert was immediately hired by The Honeywell Corp., where he was Project Manager with a devoted staff working with him. Albert spent years building, designing and starting oil refineries all over the world including China, Oman, Bogota, Mexico, Canada and California. After The Honeywell Corp. became United Oil Products (UOP) Albert remained based in Chicago as a Project Engineer. After a stellar career of 33 years that he felt passionately about, Albert chose to retire in 2012.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Susan Baggett Elgar. Also survived by his sister, Karen Elgar Heller, his brother, Joseph Elgar, his niece, Julianne (Thomas) Bendzsuk, and nephew, Stephen (Loren) Heller. Also survived by his Uncle and Aunt, Phill and Joanne Lonas and Cousin, Paulette Fry.
Albert deeply loved his family and was a man of strong faith and principles. He lived his dreams to the fullest and made every day count. Eternally Optimistic, and always had a huge smile on his face. Albert’s laughter was boisterous and enthusiastic. He spent many of his happiest hours in his yard which he was so proud of, as well as enjoying his many hobbies.
Albert will be missed by all who knew and loved him, and will remain in his Wife’s heart forever.
GOD and his Angels are welcoming their newest Angel, who we know will be looking out for us in HEAVEN.
A celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11 a.m. from Christ United Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. prior to services.
