Alfred Chandley Gilbert Sr.

Alfred Chandley Gilbert, Sr. – a 77 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012. Mr. Gilbert retired from Alabama Power Company as a foreman after 40 years of service. He was a charter member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and was a member of the Loop Masonic Lodge #895. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Prepy and Eva Gilbert; brothers, Herbert Gilbert, Dudley Gilbert, and Bernard Gilbert; and sister, Joyce Hadaway. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra F. Gilbert; daughters, Pamela E. Gilbert and Donna Y. Gilbert; son, Alfred C. Gilbert, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Gerri P. Scoggins and Mary D. Gilbert; nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at Kingswood United Methodist Church on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kingswood United Methodist Church, 5200 Perin Rd., Mobile, AL 36693 or to a charity of your choice.
