

Alfus “A.B.” Baker Manley, Jr. - a native of Crandall, MS and a resident of Mobile, AL for the past sixty years, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Manley retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service and served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. In 1995, he retired from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office with the rank of Sergeant after twenty-three years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfus Baker Manley and Nola Grace Todd Manley; one sister, Bobbie Jean McInnis; and two grandchildren, Olivia Grace Manley and John Baker Manley. He is survived by his wife, Marty Manley; five children, Charlotte (John) Holloway, Deborah (Gary) Barile, Janet (Carl) McKinney, Michelle (Tony) Thomason, and Michael T. (Miranda) Manley; one brother, Lafayette Manley; nine grandchildren, LeAnne Alford, Bryan Holloway, Leslie Davis, Jonathan Hart, Anna McKinney, Helen Hendrix, Allison Manley, Derek McKinney, and Ryan McKinney; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Davis, and Noah Hart; his faithful dog and companion, Buster; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery West, on Snow Road.
