Alice Marie McFadden Downey

Alice Marie McFadden Downey, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, born on February 17, 1933 Silas, Alabama, departed this life on October 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Leslie Berry “Buck” Downey and her parents, Dewey and Annie Mae McFadden of Silas, Alabama. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Claude) McLaughlin; two sons, Jerry Downey, Gary (Debbie) Downey; grandson, Nathan Downey who was her pride and joy; nieces, nephew; many other friends and relatives. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Dawes and for the past 12 years a member of First Baptist Church of Tillman’s Corner where her Sunday school class was a huge part of her life. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center also the nurses and staff at Gulf Coast Health & Rehab on Grelot Road for their kindness and care. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 12 noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 10 AM until 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
