
Mrs. Alice Eulalie (Nadeau) Reimer, died on December 29, 2012 after a short stay at Eastern Shore Rehabilitation Hospital, in Daphne, AL. She was born in Moss Point, Mississippi on March 22, 1925 and was a long term resident of Chickasaw, Alabama. She graduated from Mobile's Bishop Toolen High School and Providence School of Nursing where she obtained a degree as a Registered Nurse in Operating Room techniques. She worked at Providence Hospital and Marine Hospital in Mobile. Alice moved to Birmingham in 1957 and continued her nursing career at St. Vincent Hospital as an OR nurse. Her parents Alexander D. Nadeau and Mary Eulalie (Delmas) Nadeau, sister Ann (Nadeau) Sullivan, and brother Alexander D. Nadeau, Jr. preceded her in death. Alice is survived by two sisters, Marie (Nadeau) Bostwick of Mobile and Rita (Nadeau) Sessions of Arlington, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice Married John Francis Reimer of Mobile on November 29, 1958 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Chickasaw. The priests present at the Mass were Rev. John O' Hare, David Sullivan, John Adams, Joseph Jennings, and (then) Monsignor Oscar Lipscomb- now Archbishop Retired, Oscar Lipscomb. Alice and John have one son, John Francis Reimer, Jr. He and his wife Theresa (Churchhill) Reimer live in Frederick, Maryland. Alice pursued her nursing career and worked in Washington, DC for several years as a home nurse. In 1981 she was assigned to assist White House Press Secretary James Brady after he was shot and seriously wounded while defending President Ronald Reagan in that infamous failed assassination attempt at the Washington Hilton. She helped nurse him back to health enough to sponsor the "Brady Bill" which outlawed hand guns in Washington, DC. Alice and John retired from Washington after 14 years and lived in Gulf Breeze, Florida for 13 years before moving to their residence in Fairhope, Alabama. The Reimer family wishes to express our thanks to all those at Thomas Hospital and Eastern Shore Rehabilitation Hospital who assisted in any way for the care and comfort of Alice during her final days. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at10:00 AM from St. Pius X Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Saturday 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
