

Al was born on October 22, 1962, at the Zaragoza Air Base in Zaragoza, Spain while is late father, Dr. Alvin Paul Rainosek, Sr. and mother, Ethelyn Francis Rainosek were deployed abroad for the United States Air Force. Al lived the early days of his childhood in Bryan, Texas, while his father completed advanced degrees including his PhD in Statistics from Texas A&M University. At age 7, Al and his parents relocated to Mobile, Alabama where his father was employed by the University of South Alabama. Al was a graduate of St. Dominics grade school in 1977 and McGill Toolen High School in 1981. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting and financial management from the University of South Alabama in 1986. His academic achievements enabled him to be posted on the University of South Alabama Alumni Wall of Honor. Al was also a very accomplished golfer playing for the University of South Alabama golf team and participating in many local golf tournaments. He was a big sports fan pulling for the Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M Aggies (Gig’em!) and the South Alabama Jaguars. There was not much Al did not know about these teams, and he enjoyed speaking with family members and friends about upcoming games, stats and divisional standings.
Al started his career with Delchamps Inc. in Mobile, Alabama. In 1993, after 12 years of managerial and retail experience at Delchamps, Al relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to begin his career in financial analysis working with companies such as Per-Se Technologies Inc., LOR Inc, and Nationwide Credit Inc. In 1999, Al relocated to Birmingham, Alabama to do financial analyst work with Oakstone Publishing. Al was frequently sought after to perform financial analysis consulting services which he did as an independent consultant in the Birmingham and Atlanta areas for 12 years. In 2012, Al accepted an opportunity to work with Signal International in Mobile, AL to return home to Mobile where he could be closer to his family. After completing his work at Signal, Al continued his consulting services work while also becoming an important caregiver to his mother and father who also resided in Mobile, Alabama.
Al was a very self-less and giving person. He regularly attended church at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Mobile, coming often to say the rosary and light candles for his family and people he cared about. He would never pass by a person in need without helping them. When his father passed away in 2015, Al became the primary care giver for his mother, Ethelyn, for a period of 10 years up until his passing. He was a devoted son and was always there to help and support his parents. He loved his brother Mark Rainosek and his brother’s family, who reside in Greensboro, North Carolina. He would visit them every Christmas to celebrate the holidays. Al also had many friends where he exercised daily at the University of South Alabama Student Center and went to see University of South Alabama baseball, basketball and football games. He also had many friends on the golf course, playing golf at several of the local courses.
Al was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Alvin Paul Rainosek, Sr.
Al is survived by his mother, Ethelyn Francis Rainosek, his brother Mark Alan Rainosek, his brother’s wife Mary deRosset Holt Rainosek, his brother’s children, Caroline deRosset Rainosek and Mary Ashton Rainosek as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church (6300 McKenna Dr, Mobile, AL 36608). Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church at the address noted above.
