Andrew Randolph Shotts

Andrew (Andy) Randolph Shotts passed away on September 11, 2015. Andy was born in Tampa, FL and grew up in Mobile, Al. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Wayne and Suzanne Shotts, his brother, David (Blair) Shotts (Camille), nephew, Wren Shotts, and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Andy attended Murphy High School where he served as President of his junior and senior classes. He graduated from Springhill College in English and Political Science, Cum Laude. He received an MA in English from the University of Alabama and a MAT in secondary language arts from Springhill College. At the time of his death Andy was teaching literature at Auburn University and completing work on his PHD. Andy was most at home in the academic world. He loved poetry, literature and teaching. Sadly, we lost him to cancer, but he will always be with us. A memorial visitation will be held at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Andy’s life will be held in the church chapel at 11:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Mobile Public Library
