Anna "Mayvis" Werner entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, where she is reunited with loved ones, her favorite travel partner, loving husband Charles “Lynn” Werner, and her great granddaughter Olivia Angeline Bryant. She is now gardening, fishing, working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, embroidering, and playing piano to her heart’s content in a most wonderful place. Her three daughters, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two sisters, and an extended family of relatives and friends from every walk of life carry her spirit on here. We will remember her beautiful smile, her delicious food and perfect flowers, and her strength, which carried her through many achievements in her 92 years. Mayvis was a devoted stay-at-home mother, an RN, president of the Tennessee Chapter of The American Osteopathic Auxiliary, and still managed to log enough hours to get her private pilot’s license. Mayvis was Organist for the Dave Langham Chapter of Eastern Star #536, Worthy Matron of the Mobile Chapter of Eastern Star #348, and was honored to be Grand Chaplain for the Alabama Order of Eastern Star, 1995-96. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Connie Jo Bryant (children Craig, Ellery, John; grandchildren William, Whitney, and John Lucas); Anna Louise Respess (husband Jim Hollister), and Robin McClure (husband Chip, children Mark and Michael, grandchild Lorelai); sisters Ramona Lee Vickery and Mary Esther Miles; and many in-laws, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten. We are all thankful for the wonderful care she received at Gordon Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center and SouthernCare Hospice in Mobile, AL. The family is grateful for her loving caregiver Chelsea Kountz. Mayvis is preceded in death by her parents, Claudius L and Viola Gartman Roberts, brothers Marvin “Buddy” Claudius Roberts and Reginald Leonard Roberts, and first husband and father of her children, Dr. William "Bill" R Respess.. Friends can visit with Mayvis’ family at Kingswood United Methodist Church at 5200 Perin Rd, Mobile, AL 36693 on August 8 at 1:00 pm. In her memory, Mayvis asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis or the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute via the Alabama Grand Chapter of Eastern Star, 1423 Upper Kingsdon Rd, Prattville, AL 36067. Condolences may be offered at www.pinecrestfuneralhome.com.
