Barbara Pavlic Bryan, a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes, transcended to Heaven from her home on the morning of September 26th. She was looking forward to meeting her mother for the first time. Barbara was taken to Allen Memorial Home at the age of 6 months and to St. Marys Home at the age of 6 where she grew up. Barbara was a beautiful May Queen at Bishop Toolen High School and met her beloved husband, Harvey, soon after. They married, had 5 children, Tony (Kathleen) Bryan, Tim (Jan) Bryan, Sharon (Neal) Tourne’, Tina Bryan and David (Debbie) Bryan; two sisters, Emily and Anna; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and other relatives. Barbara and Harvey celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in August of this year.
Barbara had three great loves: God, her family and her phone. Her deep and unwavering faith has inspired so many. Some even fondly referred to her as St. Barbara. She often talked of how she had loved taking care of and raising her family. And she ultimately did a fabulous job of teaching Harvey to cook her own special way! Then there was her phone. She was untiring in calling absolutely everyone she loved.sometimes numerous times each day! In the meantime, she would sit in her wheelchair and watch the hummingbirds she fondly referred to as little Jesus and the angels. She is with them now. We will miss our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her husband, Elbert Harvey Bryan, Jr., will be surrounded in love by the family they created together. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
