Barbara was born on May 24, 1957, in Mobile, AL. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1975. She later married and relocated to Sacramento, CA where she resided for about 10 years. She later divorced and returned to Mobile, AL. She attended Coastal Cosmetology School and became a licensed cosmetologist.
Although Barbara had many interests and hobbies, it was her time in the workplace she appreciated the most. Her careers with University of South Alabama, Carnival cruise lines, and John Fayard trucking through Swetman Security were very meaningful to her. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Barbara was an incredibly competent woman who faced challenges with a steadfast faith and a strong will. She was kind, generous and had a great love for people. Her great advice and beautiful smile will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Dorothy Turner and father, Rembert Jackson.
She is survived by her daughter, Candice Harvey, her sisters Wedia Billups, Ingrid (Dennis) Juzang; a host of nieces and nephews one devoted Kiesha Pettway; a host of cousins and other special extended family members including an enormous group of friends.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 630pm. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends before the service, beginning at 4pm at Pine Crest Funeral Home 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL 36605.
