On May 18, 2020, Barbara Diane Claus Wilusz, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76 in Mobile, AL. Barbara was born on January 12, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. She married her loving and devoted husband, John in 1963 in Philadelphia, PA. Their union produced three loving and devoted daughters. John and Barbara moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1969.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Dorothy Claus and her brother, Mickey Claus. She is survived by her husband, John, three adoring daughters: Elizabeth (Sean) Schultz, Shirley (Richard) Brown, and Brenda (Joseph) Adkins, six beloved grandchildren: Andrew Wilusz, Madeline Adkins, Chandler Adkins, Kyle Adkins, Brenda Adkins, Jarad Schultz and Richard Brown, Jr.; brother-in-law and his wife, Bob (Carol) Wilusz, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Barbara had a passion for reading and traveling the world with her adoring husband. Her culinary skills were unmatched. Her greatest joy came from taking care of her family and her home. She was one of the smartest and hardest working people anyone could hope to meet. She was above all reliable and fiercely loyal. Her unassuming grace and quiet dignity will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Barbara will be laid to rest on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Pinecrest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway. The family will receive visitors from 12-2 with funeral services in the chapel at 2:00. Officiating the service will be, Fr. Patrick Discoll, St. Dominic’s Catholic Church.
