Betty Lord Sims

Mrs. Betty Lord Sims, age 77 and native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014, following an illness. She is preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Pierce Lord. She was retired as the Service Coordinator at Mobile Gas Company after thirty four years of service, and was the chairperson of the Gulf Coast Liver Support Group. She was a 1955 graduate of Murphy High School and an Azalea Trail Maid. She was also a volunteer at Providence Hospital and a member of Luke 4:18 Fellowship. Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband of 54 years, Billy Sims; children, Stephen Sims (Jeanne Armstrong) of Semmes, AL and Stephanie Sims (Don Fletcher) of Prattville, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Travis Caleb Sims and Claire Sims Fletcher. Family members would like to express their appreciation for the care given to Mrs. Sims by Dr. Jorge Herrera and the doctors and nursing staffs at USA Medical Center and Mobile Infirmary LTAC unit. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, Mobile, AL. Pallbearers will be D.R. Byrne, Bobby Moss, Bill Stephens, Clyde Moore, Emmett Reed and Wayne Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Leighton Skinner, Frank Ballard, Gary Osing, Harold Kirkland and George Lickman.
