Bettye Lea Kittrell Pitts

August 23, 1938- November 25, 2015 Bettye Lea Kittrell Pitts, age 77, a resident of Mobile, Al for 48 years and born in Wayne County, MS, received her upward call to Christ Jesus on November 25, 2015, after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Pitts, her parents Clarese Lowe, Robert Lowe, and Edward Kittrell (Ola), and her sisters Janice Sasser, and Maudie Conerly, brothers Billy Lee Kittrell, and Howard Kittrell. She is survived by her daughter Feleda (Bob) Keene; two grandchildren, Jeremy Keene and Apryl (Justin) Smith; 1 great granddaughter Alexa and two twin great grandsons Tobin and Caden, and one step great granddaughter Kenzie Smith, sisters Sheree Penton (Terry), Nancy Carroll (James), brothers Thomas Kittrell (Mary) Clarence Kittrell (Johnnie); other special nieces and nephews, family and friends. Bettye worked for the Alabama State Employment Service and the Alabama Veteran's Affairs in the 70s. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Bettye was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Bettye was known for her kindness and love toward others. She was the glue that held the family together. Bettye will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 1:00 PM with visitation from 11:00 AM until service time at Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
