Mrs. Stone was born on September 2, 1919, to James Gullage Sr. and Belle Middlebrooks Gullage. She grew up in Camp Hill, Alabama, and was a graduate of Montevallo University. Mrs. Stone spent most of her adult life in Mobile, Alabama, before moving permanently to The Woodlands, Texas. She was a long-time member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Francis Marion Stone; her parents; and one sister, Lillian Gullage Griffith. Mrs. Stone is survived by her two sons, Francis Marion (Karen) Stone, Jr. of Marquez, TX, and James Edward (Cathy) Stone of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Michael Stone, John Stone, Lauren Stone (Justin) Ligon, and Allie Stone (Rick) Knack; five great-grandchildren, Kathrine, Taylor, and Haley Stone, and Evie and Rachael Knack; one sister, Elizabeth Gullage Meadows; and one brother, James (Judy) Gullage, Jr. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children’s Harbor: 1 Our Children’s Highway, Alexander City, AL 35010.
