

Billy was born to William Richard Ferrell and Lillie Rose Smith Ferrell on April 28, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee but spent most of his life in South Mississippi. Billy served with the United States National Guard for nine years. He retired from Mississippi Power Company, where he worked for over forty-five years. Billy surrendered to the ministry in August of 1969 and preached at several churches in Mississippi and Louisiana under the B.M.A. He worked at Moore Funeral Home for eighteen years as a funeral attendant. Billy was a man of great integrity and even greater beliefs. He was an amazing husband, father, Bigdaddy, and brother and will be greatly missed.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Betty Carolyn Ferrell; and three brothers; Earl Richard Ferrell, Bennie Ray Ferrell, and Charles Robert Ferrell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of seventy years, Eva “Dimple” Johnson Ferrell; his daughter, Lesia Ferrell; son, Todd Ferrell (Rhonda); granddaughter, April “Sugarbabe” Condiff; grandsons, Craig Ferrell, Matthew Ferrell (Jessica), Colby Ferrell (Victoria), and Christopher Ferrell; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of adored nieces, a nephew, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Billy will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Paramount Baptist Church: 63 Paramount Church Drive, Perkinston, MS 39573. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with interment immediately following in Woodlawn Cemetery South.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Billy’s doctors, hospice staff, church family, and close family friend, Laura Loper, for their kindness and support.
