On Friday, September 10, 2021 Burns Ivey, loving husband and father of one passed away at age 85 after an eleven year battle with cancer. He was born on March 18, 1936 in Repton, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Herr Ivey; his mother, Daisy Nall Ivey; and sisters Opal Ivey Baggett, and Alice Ivey Giles.
Burns was a member of IBEW Local 505 where he worked as an electrician for 60 years. He loved fishing and watching Alabama football games. He loved his family and enjoyed spending his time with all of them.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Evans Ivey; one son, Blane Ivey (Sonja); grandchildren, Brett Ivey (Katie), Craig Ivey (Brittany); great grandchild, Conrad; brothers, Don Ivey (Donna), William Ivey, Glenn Ivey (Dottie); sister, Carol Ivey Carrera.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Radney’s Funeral Home 5-7pm. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Radney’s Funeral Home at 11am with graveside to follow 1:30pm at Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
