

Carolyn Miller Hamrick, 80, of Perdido Key, Florida, died peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2017. A native of Pinola, North Carolina, she was born February 6, 1937 to the late Robert and Grace Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded n death by her husband, Stephen O. Hamrick, and her sisters Dorothy Miller and Alice Miller Robbins. She and her family moved to Mobile, Alabama, in 1962, where she went to work for International Paper Company. She worked in personnel, human resources, purchasing and was a contract negotiator. She served on the Public Relations Council and also received several awards for her service as President of the International Management Council of the Mobile chapter of the YMCA. Carolyn retired in 1994.She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Deborah Hamrick Sims of Gulf Shores, Alabama, grandsons Brandon Sims (Valerie) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Tyler Sims (Amber) of Semmes, Alabama, and her great grandchildren Courtney, Lacey, Parker and Preston Sims and Bradley and Landon Sims. Funeral services will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2 p.m., preceded by visitation beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama. Arrangements under the direction of Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, Mobile, AL.
