Charles Emmett Hayles, 64, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Mobile, Alabama. Charles was a plumber for Persons for over 10 years. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan (Roll Tide). Charles loved fishing, as well as eating seafood – he loved his seafood gumbo, fried oysters, and fried catfish. He was a car racing enthusiast. Charles enjoyed Mobile International and watching Jeff Gordon race. He was a member of a mystic society in Mobile.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin Hayles, Jr. and Dorothy Speights Hayles; and one brother, John Calvin Hayles, III.
He is survived by his three sisters, Pam Webster (Scott Mitchell), Elizabeth Sprinkle, and Michelle Drake (Walter); a very special nephew and caretaker, William Shires (Jenny); bestfriend, Sharon Withrow; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
