Charles Saxon Shaw

Charles Saxon Shaw, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Charlie was born to Walter and Olive Shaw on May 11, 1939 in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from Vigor High School, Class of 1957 and went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Southern Mississippi. At his father's passing and upon graduating college, he took over his father's insurance agency and ever the entrepreneur, Charlie developed and then owned several more businesses in insurance, real estate and real estate appraising. Charlie loved spending time with his friends and family at Dauphin Island. He loved to cook, and would spend hours researching new recipes to try. Charlie was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Vickie L. Shavers; his three daughters, Tammy (Steve) Wingard, Sharon Whiston, and Patricia Kennedy; five grandsons, Blake Whiston, Connor Wingard, Michael Kennedy, Nick Kennedy, and Zach Kennedy; four nieces, Brenda Morton, Debbie Trawick, Peggy Lynn Vickery and Jan Starling, as well as a host of other cherished family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, father and only brother, Olive M. Shaw, Walter M. Shaw, Sr. and Walter M. Shaw, Jr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
