
Mr. Charles W. Thomley, Sr. (93), was born in Perdido, AL and was a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Annette Rafield Thomley, four siblings, Wilbern Thomley, Velma Havard Blaize, Vera Pittman, Vivian Phillips and grandson, Robert C. McKinley, Jr. He was a licensed minister of the Fundamental Pentecostal Assemblies with headquarters in Oklahoma. He served in World War II as a Marine and later in the Merchant Marines delivering supplies to soldiers. He was a heavy equipment operator and a federal licensed tugboat captain. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 653 for 73 years., and was the general superintendent of the 1st Dauphin Island Bridge and also worked on the Wallace Tunnel. Mr. Thomley is survived by his children, Charles W. Thomley, Jr., Patricia McKinley (Robert), and one sister, Carolyn Thomley Wiggins. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 1, 2014 at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
