

Major Clarence H. White (U.S. Army Ret.), was born July 17, 1939 in Minden, LA and passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eula Lewis and Grover White. Clarence’s faith in God began with his baptism at Friendship C.M.E. Church in Lisbon, LA. He is survived by his wife, Pamela White; three children, Ronald White, Candace (Roger) Campbell; and Noelle Knott; two sisters, Clarice Jordan and Grace Richardson; a brother, Lenon Thomas; and two grandchildren, Mya Wesley and Emory Campbell and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Clarence was a retired officer of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. After graduating from Grambling State College in 1960, he went on to earn advanced degrees in Public Administration, Hospital Administration and Business Administration from Baylor, Pepperdine and Howard Universities. After retiring from military service, he had a second 20-year career as Director of Pathology at Howard University Medical in Washington, DC. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Cottage Hill in Mobile, AL, where visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
