Mrs. Claris Macon McDaniel

Mrs. Claris Macon McDaniel – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. McDaniel was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended Mary Washington College in Lynchburg, VA and the University of Alabama where she pledged Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was a 1954 Debutante. She was raised in and was a member of First Baptist Church Mobile where she and her husband of 55 years were married. Later she became a member of Ashland Place United Methodist Church. Mrs. McDaniel was a loving, caring, affectionate, outgoing mother and a conservative, God fearing woman with a deep love for animals and Fowl River. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floy V. Macon and Thelma Kearley Macon; and her siblings, Floy V. Macon, Jr., Janice Macon, Yvonne Bramlett, and Paul V. Macon. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William Y. McDaniel, M.D.; five children, W. Y. “Dan” McDaniel, Jr., Mark A. McDaniel, M.D., Richard Paul McDaniel, Scott Macon McDaniel, and Claris Lynn Feibelman; two sisters, Patricia Macon Lyon and Joan A. Macon; one sister-in-law, Betty Willingham; ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. McDaniel’s family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to her caregivers from Infirmary Hospice. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Pine Crest Cemetery with Reverend Paul D. Wolfe officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin McDaniel, Addison McDaniel, Bryson McDaniel, Samuel Feibelman, Jr., Justin McDaniel, and Jeremy McDaniel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ashland Place United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
