

Claude Eugene Robinson – 87 of Vredenburgh, AL and a longtime resident of the Mobile area, died peacefully Saturday, June 30, 2012 at University Oaks Retirement Community. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and a Veteran of World War II serving as Flight Engineer and plane Captain in the Pacific Theatre. After retiring from A&P Food Stores and Greer’s Food Stores, he enjoyed many years as a starter at Azalea City Golf Course. Claude was a Mason, a member of Government Street Presbyterian Church and an avid golfer and gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Lucille Robinson, by wives, Margie Kolb Robinson, Barbara Langham Robinson and Linda Meyers Robinson, as well as his brothers, Paul Robinson and Tony Robinson, and sister, Doris Preston. He is survived by his daughter, Claudia Stanley (Jim) of Destin, FL; grandson, Casey Chambliss (Sarah) of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Meagan Stanley of Destin, FL; two sisters, Kay Francis Rodriguez of Mobile and Sybil Temple (Raymond) of Theodore; brother, Don Robinson (Dott) of Mobile; many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home beginning at 9 a.m. prior to services.
