David Elmore Platt Jr.

Mr. David Elmore Platt, Jr. A native of Mobile, Alabama died on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the age of 67. He was born on December 26, 1943 to David Elmore Platt, Sr. & Sarah Williams Platt. He graduated from University Military School in 1962, then attended Marion Military Institute and the University of Alabama graduating in 1966. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Margaret Babin Platt; children, David Elmore (Terri) Platt, III., Rosemary Ellen Platt, Teresa Celeste (Chuck) Holland, Jennifer Denise (Britt) Kittrell; eleven grandchildren, Trey Pollard, Lyndsay Pollard, Molly Pollard, Sarah Pollard, Ansley Platt, Kelsey Platt, Bowen Flowers, Braxton Kittrell, John Myles Kittrell, Guy Holland, Anna Holland; sisters, Rochelle Platt (Don) Herring and Kay Platt (Jiles) Wade. David was a lifelong Episcopalian and was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church serving in many activities and organizations over the past several years. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 3:00 PM from Trinity Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends at the church 1:30 PM until service time in the church parlor.
