
A Memorial service to celebrate the life of David Lane Therrell, Ret. US Amy 1st SGT, 39, of Lugoff, was held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 6:00 PM in Fort Jackson Bayonet Chapel with the burial to be at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile, Al. May 6, 2011.
Visitation to at 12:00 pm. Reverend Hogan will officiate the service at 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made in Mr. Therrell’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project and Purple Heart Fund.
Mr. Therrell died Friday, April 29, 2011. Born in Mobile, AL, he was the son of Herbert Joseph and Ilene Cook Therrell. He was retired as a 1st SGT after 20 years from the US Army. He was a combat veteran of Operation in Iraqi Freedom. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, 2 Meritorious Service medals and 4 Army Commendation Medals and the Combat Infantry Badge.
Surviving are his wife Stephanie Swartzel Therrell, children, Adrienne, Jacob and Emily of the home, his father and his step-mother, Judy Therrell of Wilmer, AL; his mother of Decatur, GA; brothers, Christopher Therrell of Wilmer, AL and Adam Therrell of Atlanta, GA, sister Rebecca Hansen of Semmes, AL; step-sisters, Nicole McDuffie of Wilmer, AL, Deedee Stokley of Pascagoula, MS, Robin Mizell of Lucedale, MS and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements under the direction of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Mobile, AL.
