David Scott (Zac) Zachary, age 51, was born in Baylor Hospital, Dallas, TX, and spent the last 23 years in Mobile, AL. Referred to as “Zac” by many, he passed away Friday, April 29, 2022, after a medical emergency. He was surrounded by his loving family at Saad Hospice Retreat. He served in the U. S. Army, while stationed in Korea, he was involved in the South West Asian Conflict and received the Bronze Medal Star. Zac’s military life also included his involvement in Special Forces Recon prior to Desert Shield and he also served at Johnston Island. After his enlistment, Zac’s career was as Operations Manager at Merchants Adjustment Service, Mobile, AL. He was a Christian and loved his sweet family. He was an avid reader and delved into researching information on various topics and could spin a story that would make his listeners laugh until crying. He was a “gamer” who enjoyed playing those with his two daughters and his long-time friend Casey McGirt of Colorado. Zac had a wonderful personality and was a huge fan of Star Wars and with his burial being on May 4 we believe would cause him to say “May the 4th be with you”. While in the Army, he met the love of his life, Lori. They celebrated 25 years of marriage on April 5, 2022. Zac will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lorraine (Lori), and two daughters Maura & Aisley, his parents David & LaWanda Zachary of Ashdown, AR, sister Jennifer (Robert) Crotty of Nashville, TN, uncle Zane Gray of Ashdown, AR, mother-in-law Pat Moore, brother-in-law Cliff (Wendy) Moore, all of Mobile, AL, nieces, nephews and other relatives & friends.
