Cole was born on June 24, 1994, to Coleman Foster Meador and Deborah “Debbie” Passet Cowan. Cole was preceded in death by his beloved cousin and best friend Philip R. Armbrecht. He is survived by his parents Coleman and Katy Meador, and Debbie and Steve Cowan, his sisters Mary Katherine “Markie” Cowan and Helena Cowan Bosch, and his maternal grandmother Glenda Avent Passet, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also the proud uncle of Ender Cowan and Benjamin Bosch.
Cole was a 2013 graduate of UMS-Wright High School in Mobile, He attended Auburn University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and the University of South Alabama. As a very young twenty-something he had a colorful career as a cook, and as a waiter at various restaurants around Mobile. He finally got his first big career break and found his rhythm in member services at Navy Federal Credit Union in Pensacola. The work was challenging yet rewarding. He received several customer service awards, and had recently received a hard earned promotion.
Cole had so many diverse interests doing so many different things. He loved animals (particularly his dog Bruce), sports, running, fishing, and most recently, playing golf with his friends. But, his real passion was music. All styles and genres of music. Even as a young child Cole not only enjoyed all types of great music from any era, but understood and appreciated musical nuances well beyond his years. He also flashed jaw dropping aptitude and skill playing drums, and easily became a natural, largely self taught, guitarist. He mastered complex guitar concepts and finger patterns with ease, and even taught himself to play bass guitar.
Cole’s love of music is second only to his love of, and loyalty to, his family and friends. If he loved you, you knew it. He did not hold back. Those hugs! That quick wit. That wry, and sometimes absurdly goofy, sense of humor. And that smile! That genuine, heartfelt, beautiful Cole smile. It started in his heart, ran across his lips, and shined in his eyes. Cole, we love you and will never forget you. God on high, hear our prayer, bring him home.
