Delores "DeDe" George

DeDe is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Jack D. George and her four children; Kenneth P. George (T.J.), Vincent E. George (Mary), Michelle G. Lynn (Keith) and Stephen K. George (Stacy).

DeDe was a devout Catholic and her faith stayed strong and true until the end.

DeDe was a registered nurse for 67 years, with 62 of those being a surgical nurse. She was the 2019 recipient of the University of South Alabama hospital system’s Daisy Award given to nurses who have dedicated their lives to exemplary skill in their profession while exhibiting tremendous compassion, kindness and advocation for their patients.

In addition to loving her job, DeDe loved Mardi Gras, singing, dancing, sewing, the casinos and was always there at her children’s numerous sporting events.

A visitation for DeDe will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a committal service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, DeDe had requested donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
