Derek was born in Las Vegas, NV on March 8, 1978 to Dan and Jan Davenport Domagala. He graduated in 1996 from Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, NC, and then continued his education at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. For the last 17 years Derek worked as a Senior Account Manager at Conde Systems Inc. in Mobile, AL.
Derek enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially Alabama Crimson Tide football, Duke University basketball, Atlanta Braves baseball, and Chicago Bears football. The sports nut in him was obvious by his large collection of jerseys and sneakers!
He was an avid music lover of all genres, especially old skool hip-hop and R&B, Motown, and Carolina Beach music. In his spare time, you could find him fishing or at the shooting range. He was a master on the "schlabb" (grill), and had a penchant for gardening. But above all else, Derek loved spending time with his family and friends the most.
Derek is survived by his wife, Tiffany Deschaine Domagala; sister Jessica (Jason) Sorenson; brother, Dallas (Rebecca) Domagala; nieces Emily (Nick) Russell and Katherine Wheeler; and nephew Dallas Jr.
Derek is preceded in death by his parents, and his older sister, Dani Starling.
The family would like to ask all those attending to please wear bright colors (or as Derek would say, "thirsty" colors), or your favorite team jersey.
A Memorial Visitation for Derek will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606, followed by a celebration of life service from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com for the Domagala family.
