

Dolores “Dodie” Nussbaum Loeb passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and devoted caretakers. Dodie was born and raised in Dermott, AR. She attended the University of Alabama in 1949, where she met her husband, and together they raised their family in Mobile. Dodie was always at the pinnacle of fashion and design, and founded The Gallery Shoe Boutique in 1978, which remains one of the longest standing retail businesses in Mobile.
Dodie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Alvin Loeb; her parents, Sam and Jennie Nussbaum; her sister, Irma Nussbaum Levine; and her brother, Stanley Ray Nussbaum. She is survived by her three children, Marc (Jinks) Loeb, Leslie (Larry) Loeb Miller, and Lewis (Paula) Loeb; her four grandchildren, Amelia (Nick) Miller Collins, Adam (Rebecca) Miller, Lauren Loeb and Jennie Loeb; seven great-grandchildren, Oliver, Spencer, and Elliot Collins, Zachary Miller, and Will, Gracie, and Bennett Wallace; three siblings, Frances (Dr. Ralph) Capouya, Barbara Wirtschafter, and Alan (Charlotte) Nussbaum; and her sister-in-law, Jean Reiner.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Springhill Avenue Temple, with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. The committal service will follow at Temple Cemetery in Mobile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Springhill Avenue Temple.
