Dora Nelle Pitts Wood an 82 year-old native of Wilmington, NC and resident of Mobile for the past 60 years, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. She held a bachelors and masters degree from the University of South Alabama and retired from the Mobile County School System after 20 years of service as the librarian at John Will Elementary School. Mrs. Wood is survived by her children, Nell Wood Maisel (Elliot) of Mobile, Ruth Wood Northcutt (Scott) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Laura Wood Steber (Mark) of Sarasota, FL; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Lindley Maisel, Evan Barrett Maisel, Louis Edward Maisel, John Divin Steber, David Joseph Steber, Mary Margaret Steber, Anna Reese Northcutt, and Thomas Samuel Northcutt; brother, Peyton Edward Pitts (Ann) of Wilmington; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
