Dorothy Schilling Dooley

Dorothy Schilling “Dottie” Dooley was born January 17, 1956 in Mobile and passed away May 4, 2013. A lifetime resident of Mobile, Dottie attended St. Mary Catholic School and was a 1975 graduate of McGill Toolen Catholic High School. Dottie also attended Springhill College. She recently worked as a teacher assistant at St. Mary Catholic School. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William J. Schilling, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. John W. Ellis; parents Mr. and Mrs. William J. Schilling, Jr. She is survived by her mother Clara M. Schilling; her husband of 33 years Patrick “Pat” T. Dooley, Sr.; sons Patrick T. Dooley, Jr., John W. Dooley (Alex), Michael A. Dooley (Katy) and Gregory J. Dooley; sisters Lou Schilling Ledford (Ron) and Ann C. Schilling; brothers William J. Schilling, III (Nancy) and John E Schilling (Jeanean); nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Dottie was a devout Catholic who loved being a wife and mother. She loved children, cooking, walking and spending time with her friends. Quick with a kind word, a witty remark and the caring and thoughtfulness of an understanding heart, her life was a testament to her faith, courage and gentle spirit. The family will receive relatives and friend at St. Mary Catholic Church Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10AM - 11AM, followed by Mass at 11AM. A reception will be held at Sisters of Mercy Building. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Mary Catholic School, 107 N. Lafayette St., Mobile, AL 36604.
