
Earl Douglas Gunter, on January 14, 2012 another of God’s children was welcomed home. Earl Gunter born on November 28, 1932 was preceded in death by his parents, Russ & Hattie Belle Gunter; daughter, Cassie Reynolds; brothers, Marcus Gunter, Olouise Gunter and Edsel Gunter; and father and mother in law, Elmer & Lucy Switzer. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Switzer Gunter; daughter Stacey (Mike) Bell, son in law, Derrell Reynolds; grandchildren, Trey & Derrick Reynolds, Kaitlin, Kristen and Shane Bell; siblings, Merwyn Gunter, Byrum (Betty) Gunter, Bill (Nancy) Gunter and Shirley (Pat) Patrick and his canine companion, Holly. Earl, a 1952 graduate of Moss Point High School, served in the 8th Infantry Division of the US Army then proceeded to work for 44 years with International Paper Company. He was a beloved member of Friendship Baptist Church in Grand Bay, AL where he sang in the choir and co-taught a Sunday school class with his wife. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Friendship Baptist Church in Grand Bay. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the church. Interment will be in Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point, MS.Arrangements under the direction of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Mobile, AL.
