Lt.Col. Edgar Franklin Harlin Jr., USAF Ret.

Lt. Colonel Edgar Franklin Harlin, Jr. USAF Ret., passed away in Jacksonville Beach, FL on Friday, May 23, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar F. and Martha Estha Harlin Sr. Mr. Harlin retired as Business Manager for the State of Alabama Prison System. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, retiring after over 28 years. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Mr. Harlin is survived by his wife, Kathryn Hudson Harlin, children, Joyce Atkinson, Julia (Ken) Tillou, Elizabeth (Rick) Wheat and Edgar F. (Cynthia) Harlin, III. He also leaves to cherish his memory, brother, Robert Harlin, sister, Valleta Hein, eight grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Atkinson, Stephen Atkinson, John (Lucy) Tillou, Thomas Tillou, and Kathryn Tillou, Miranda Wheat, Kimberly (Frederick) Harris II, and Kristen Harlin; and four great-grandchildren, Mariah, Blake, Jack and Sam. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Chapel services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery, Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL.
