
Edna Joy Spaulding Dixon – Born January 25, 1929, in Boothton, AL and a long time resident of Mobile, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. Dixon; her mother, Ethel Edna Presnell Gregory; her father, Ned Russell Gregory, Sr.; two sisters, Estelle Toxey, and Eula Mae Spaulding; and four brothers, Mack Gregory, Gerald Gregory, Clinton Russell Gregory, and Ned Russell Gregory, Jr. Survivors include her former husband and dear friend, William Raymond Spaulding, Sr.; two daughters, Linda S. Dixon and Wanda Cox Coker; four sons, William Ralph Spaulding, William Raymond Spaulding, Jr., Carlis Russell Spaulding, and Thomas Alan Spaulding; one sister, Betty Jean Ralston; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. A memorial service will be held from Christ United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Special thanks go to the staff at Cogburn Midtown for the wonderful care given to our mother over the past two years. A special thank you goes to the staff at Springhill Medical Center and to Covenant Hospice.
