

Edward Leslie Mizell, Sr. – devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, an 83 year-old native of Stapleton and longtime resident of Mobile, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 31, 2012. A proud veteran of the Mobile Fire Department, Mr. Mizell retired after 32 years of service. He was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Air Force and was a member of Tanner Williams Assembly of God Church. Mr. Mizell was preceded in death by his parents, W.W. and Cora Mizell, and beloved wife, Barbara Mizell. He is survived by his children, Edward L. “Eddie” Mizell, Jr. (Darlene), Charlene Mizell Renfro, Michael Kenneth Mizell (Sheila), Theresa Mizell McClelland (Paul), and Pamela Mizell Rosier; sister, Velma Warren; brothers, Jesse Mizell (Frances), Mickey Mizell (Beverly), and Jimmy Mizell (Cynthia); 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Tanner Williams Assembly of God Church on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street on Friday, June 1, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Gardens.
