Eleanor Douglas Melton

Eleanor Douglas Melton, 85, born March 17, 1939 in Uriah, Alabama, passed away on June 11, 2024 in Mobile, Alabama . She was devoted to her family, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she was an avid animal lover and a Alabama football fan. She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Hazel Sizemore McClammy , father Wilbur Franklin McClammy; her husband of 63 years, James Donald Melton; daughter, Donna Melton Dobbs Schneider; sisters, Margaret McConnell and Charlie Nee “Skippy” Cruit. She is survived by her children, Darrell (Cynthia) Melton and Dennis J. Melton; grandchildren, Hunter (Mary) Melton, Kyle (Tori) Melton, Lauren (Bart) Andrews and Caroline (Tanner) Merchant; great grandchildren, Aubrey Merchant , Wyatt Merchant, Adalynn Andrews, Landon Melton, Ellie Melton, and Farrah Melton; step - great grandchildren, Eleanor Andrews and Jackson Andrews, also survived by other relatives and friends. sister and brother in law, Ann and AW. Buster Ferguson; In lieu of flowers donations in Eleanor’s memory may be made to the Fulton Road Baptist Church Mobile, Alabama or Gulf Shores Church of Christ, Gulf Shores, Alabama. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home – Mobile, on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Radney Funeral home at 2:00 p.m. with interment following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
