
Elizabeth was born in Mobile on March 1, 1921, the sixth of seven children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
She graduated from Convent of Mercy High School. Following high school, she was employed at Brookley Field in the war bonds department. She graduated from Columbus University in Washington D.C. with a degree in secretarial studies and worked for the General Accounting Office. As a child, she enjoyed family time on Mobile Bay, swimming, sailing, fishing, and eating an abundance of crab and gumbo.
In 1962, she met the love of her life, "Andy", and was married. Following her marriage, she retired and devoted her time to raising her only child, Eric. She enjoyed spending summer vacations in Ocean City Maryland, riding bicycles on the boardwalk, attending auctions, and collecting antiques. She worshipped at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arlington, Virginia and St. Pius X Catholic Church. She loved to dance and enjoyed classical music and the opera. Elizabeth served as past president of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. She served as publicity director for St. Mary's home 150 year anniversary and raised monies for the annual quilt raffle. Elizabeth devoted her time and talents to serving her church and other charities. She was actively involved in serving St. Mary's home, Ladies of Charity, and the Burse Club. Elizabeth received the distinguished metal PRO ESSLESIA ET PONTIFICE for her outstanding achievement and faithful dedication to the church.
She is survived by her only son, Eric R. Anderson, Jr. along with his wife Laura and grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, and "Andy."
The family prefers that memorial donations be made to St. Mary's home or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 10 A.M. Interment will be in Catholic Cemetery.
