Ella Louise James

Ella L. James – a 67 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. Purvis and Anna Purvis Moring. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, William H. “Bill” James; children, Anna Laura Duckworth (Tony) and William B. “Billy” James (Leta); grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Duckworth, and Bryant, Kaitlin, and Lawson James; brothers, Walter Earl “Bebe” Purvis (Carol), George Emmett Purvis (Pat), and Robert S. “Robbie” Purvis; sisters, Loreen Singley, and Ella’s twin, Ellen Cowart (Herman); best friend, Lynette Stanley (Bob); many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from Cypress Shores Baptist Church on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, June 14, from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cypress Shores Baptist Church, 4327 Higgins Rd., Mobile, AL 36619.
