

Mother Emma McCall was born November 14, 1925 to the late Ledger and Georgia Johnson in Uriah, AL. She lived in Mobile, AL until she departed this life on December 22, 2016. She is preceded in death by a loving and devoted husband David McCall Sr., her parents, two sisters: Pearlie Mae Rodgers and Bertha Mae Knight, two sons: Hartford McCall Sr., and David McCall Jr., one daughter: Bessie McCall., two son-in-laws: Henry Johnson, and James Sylvester.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Goodhope Baptist Church, Mount Olive No. 1, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and Word of Church, under the leadership of Pastor Corey McCoy, where she remained a faithful member until God called her home. Mrs. McCall worked for the University of South Alabama until she retired after 20 years of dedicated service.
She leaves to cherish her memories of ten children: Genevieve Johnson of Mobile, AL, James Penn of Franklin, AL, Ethel Williams of Talladega, AL, Rochelle (Thomas) Richardson, Elder Joyce Malone, David (Kimberley) McCall, Glenda (Tim) Brazile, Jewell Sylvester, Dannie McCall, and Randy McCall. One brother Willie Johnson of New Brunswick, NJ. Four brother-in-laws: Manzy (Ella) McCall, Romas McCall, Emerson McCall and Alfonzia McCall all of Monroeville, AL. Three sister-in-laws: Martha Hill, Mary Tate, and Lillie McCall all of Monroeville, AL. Forty grandchildren, sixty-eight great-grandchildren, Fifteen great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives ,and friends.
