Euna was born in State Line, Mississippi and was a resident of Mobile, Alabama most of her life.
Euna enjoyed bird watching, feeding her squirrel (Buddy), taking care of her plants, grocery shopping, driving her car, watching the news (and keeping us up to date), as well as visiting and chatting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Euna never met a stranger and at 94 was still quick-witted and humorous. She also cherished and missed taking care of her beloved dog Lucy. She was extremely organized and enjoyed rearranging her furniture. She loved Facebook, coloring, and working crossword puzzles, which helped her remain sharp as a tack. She attended Murphy High School and retired from Morrison’s as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Norman Newell; parents; Joseph Harrison Hartley and Mattie Bell Chason Hartley; sisters; Velma Hartley; Ruby Hartley Broadus (James); Bertha Hartley Woodward (Bill); brothers; Joseph Harry Hartley (Muriel); WJ Hartley (Frances); nephews; Frank Peterson Woodward III and James Clinton Broadus.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved son Clennon Carlisle Kasal (September 26, 1946 – March 4, 2013); who she adored and was his biggest fan. She doted on him while he enjoyed his music, golf and fishing. He was the love of her life!
She is survived by her grandchildren Angela Lynne Kasal, Amy Kasal Mathers (JB), Joseph Hartley Kasal, William Harrison Kasal (Samantha); great grandchildren; David Kirkwood Palmer, Jr., Kayleigh Sullivan Jones, Matthew Lawrence Jones, William Andrews Mathers all of Mobile, AL and Yekaterina Doyen of Seattle, WA; nieces and nephews; Myrtis Yvonne Mansfield (Dan), Marion Maxine Broadus, Joseph William Woodward (Sandra), Jackie Woodward Barnett (Phillip), Sandra Hartley Baker and Joseph Duane Hartley all of Mobile, AL; Charles Edward Broadus, Sr. (Cathy) of Daphne, AL and Darleen Hartley of Sacramento, CA. and all of her great nieces and nephews.
