Florence Ramona Reed Lawley, 91, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 in Mobile, Alabama. Ramona was born to Jesse Reed and Eura Gordon Reed on October 23, 1928 in Greenbrier, Alabama. She was a woman who dedicated her whole life to her church and family. Ramona was a member of Orchard Baptist Church, and had taught Sunday School for most of her life. She stayed involved with her church family, and served the Lord whole-heartedly. Ramona loved her family – was a matriarch in a house full of boys until her grandchildren came along. Then as all good grandmothers do, Ramona made her life about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an accomplished quilter, loved to cook. Ramona often traveled with her husband, Bobby, to the mountains and to Braves’ games. She was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother. Ramona touched many lives, and will continue to do so for many years to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Eura Reed; six brothers and sisters; one daughter, Kimberley Charlene Lawley; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Lawley.
Ramona is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Bobby G. Lawley; two sons, Mike Lawley and Don (Robin) Lawley; four grandchildren, Noelle Davis, Jennifer Fordemwalt, Shayne Ault, and Brandon Lawley; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation for Ramona will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Orchard Baptist Church in Mobile from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a funeral service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway.
