Frank Bates

Frank Bates, age 86 and longtime resident of Wilmer, Al, passed away at his home surrounded by family, on Monday, April 28, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Ryals Bates. He was a pipefitter for over thirty years with Ingalls Shipyard and retired with Brown and Root after many years of service. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Wilmer. Mr. Bates is survived by his children; Louise Armistead (Edward), James Bates, Brenda Daw (Dennis) and Kathy Vickers (Eugene). He also leaves to cherish his memory, brother; Carl Clayton Bates, sister; Bobbie Jean Bates; grandchildren; Andrew, Stephen, D.J. and Jeffrey and great-grandchildren; Samantha, Jacob and Garrett. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Wilmer with funeral services beginning at 11:-00 a.m. Interment will be in Howell Baptist Church Cemetery, Lucedale, MS.
