Frank Knowles Bryant Jr.

Frank K. Bryant, Jr. – passed away on May 6, 2011 at a local hospital at the age of 90. He retired from the L&N Railroad in 1980. He was a graduate from Murphy High in 1939. Mr. Bryant served in the United States Navy. He was a life time member of the V.F.W. Post #49 and American Legion Post #76. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eula Morris Bryant; father, Frank Knowles Bryant; sisters, Eulene DeLoach and Eula “Mickey” Bryant; stepson, Christopher Shane Reid; his first wife and the mother of his children, Maida Kate Epperson Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Sonja Swendson Bryant; daughter, Debra E. Bryant; two sons, Frank K. (Bebe) Bryant, III and Samuel Anthony (Rose) Bryant; step-son, Carl (Leisa) Havard; special nephew, Donald (Carrie S.) Au Coin; three granddaughters, Lauren (Jonathan) Averette, Kerri S. Bryant and Paige Bryant; one grandson, Justin Bryant; four step-granddaughters, Rebecca Havard, Virginia (Troy) Madden, Charlotte (Ricky) Martin and Tracy (Mike) Lyles; one step-grandson, Tyler Havard; numerous great-grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Lay Cemetery, Miflin, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to services.
