
Fred Michael Durst – a 59 year-old native of South Bend, IN and a resident of Mobile passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He retired from Northrop-Grumman after many years of service. Mr. Durst was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army, was an active member of the Church of the Apostles in Montrose, and was very active with the Home of Grace in Vancleave, MS. Mr. Durst enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Elmer Durst. Mr. Durst is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela Durst; children, Phillip Durst and Lee Durst; mother, Jessie Durst; sisters, Candy Elliott (Eugene) and June Brining; brother, Kenneth Hobart (Luona); nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Graveside services will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 21, 2011, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the service hour. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Apostles in Montrose on Saturday, January 22, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Home of Grace, 14200 Jericho Rd., Vancleave, MS 39565 or the American Cancer Society, 900 Western America Cir., Mobile, AL 36609.
