Fred Charles Swendson

Mr. Fred Charles “Freddie” Swendson – a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at his residence. Freddie was the owner of S & S Tile and Carpet Company in Mobile for so many years, you can be assured that you have walked on one of the “Boss Man’s” floors. He was a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 21 years and was an avid boater, hunter, fisherman, and a phenomenal father. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lee Swendson and Dorothy Cyphers Swendson; and his brother, Michael Swendson. He is survived by four children, Ian Swendson, Adrienne Chelsea Swendson, Damon Paul Conway, and Michelle Preston; two sisters, Tammy Swendson and Linda Swendson; four grandchildren, Zachary Harbin, Eric, Haley, and Benjamin Preston; exceptional friends, Nancy and Lanny Whiteley and Rebecca Horton; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 P.M. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Our Savior Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
